You Need Help, and These Cats Know It
Got any outgoing mail? Basil has it covered—literally.
Basil is one of the eight cats rescued from a hoarder we told you about a few weeks ago. Three of the cats—Clove, Turmeric, and Wasabi—have been adopted, but Basil, Juniper, Oregano, Paprika, and Rosemary are still looking for their dream jobs.
In the meantime, they’ve been hard at work at the Sam Simon Center, PETA’s headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, “helping” with filing, paper recycling, stress reduction, desk de-cluttering, and other essential duties. Basil is also the official greeter, cheerfully winding herself around the legs of all visitors. She has taken PETA’s motto “never be silent” to heart, letting her “coworkers” know in no uncertain terms when she would like to have her ears scratched.
Basil and the other cats’ assistance has been much appreciated, but we realize that they are just “temps” who are destined for bigger and better things. Basil, for one, is definitely on a management fast track.
