ASM Global–managed venues across the country continue to host notoriously abusive animal acts, such as the Carden, Loomis Bros., and Jordan World circuses. Despite having learned that wild animals used in circuses are conditioned to fear bullhooks—sharp steel-tipped rods that resemble a fireplace poker—whips, and other weapons used to force them to perform confusing and painful tricks, ASM Global has yet to commit to an animal-free policy at the venues that it manages.

Carden family members have been cited for numerous violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act, including keeping tigers in tiny cages for nearly 24 hours a day and failing to provide adequate veterinary care to elderly elephants with cracked toenails and apparent arthritis. Meanwhile, Loomis Bros. and Jordan World circuses have a history of contracting with notoriously cruel exhibitors who are known for abusing animals.

Nearly 750 venues and dozens of communities across the country prohibit or restrict animal acts. Please urge ASM Global to prohibit circuses that use animals from performing at its venues in the future.
